You deserve this ring. Merry Christmas.
- From Yourself
I've always heard about this YSL ring. I never gave it any thought until I saw it in person. HOLY MOLY my heart stopped and my gaze was locked. I saw a customer wear the turquoise one. I told her ring was beautiful and asked if it was "the" ring. Surely enough, it was the YSL ring. Ughh, now I found something I adore that I can't stop thinking about.
I'm either going to get the deep blue or the turquoise ring soon. Readers! Can you please help me choose which one I should get for my first YSL ring? The coral is just stunning as well and I want that one as my second YSL ring. (I'm talking as if I already bought my first already haha). I'm planning to go to Holt Renfrew on Friday to check it out. The stock photo above does not do the ring justice.
The ring is $250USD so it should be around $300CAD. That's not too bad for costume jewelry. It's cheap compared to Chanel costume jewerly. The oval is made out of glass and the hardware is gold plated.
Here are some photos I found on the internet (not mine!) that capture the beauty of these rings:

So I looked at dupes of these rings (straight replicas and inspired ones) and they don't even compare to the original YSL ring. It's either the stone lacks detail or the hardware looks cheap. Ahhh, the woes of a fashion snob.
My boyfriend thought it was a ridiculous price for a ring that's not made out of any precious metals (I guess gold plated doesn't count) and didn't even bother looking at any photos of the ring. There goes me hinting what I wanted for Christmas. That was the cheapest item on the list anyways lol. My boy "space" friend thought the ring looked like a tumor but agreed that it's different but lovely in it's own way. *Correction: boy "space" friend said I should get it! (if you are reading lol)* ..So I hope Holt Renfrew has stock.
Okay so I'm finally going to get my last Seattle haul item back to me so I can finally do that haul post like I promised. So annoying when things are not in your control.
Hooray! I hope Holts has them in stock :) This alluring ring is absolutely gorgeous (no amount of pictures will do its beauty justice) and it's a buy you'll definitely treasure forever.
ReplyDeleteI personally love the deep blue. I find the darker stones more intriguing, have more personality, and "pop" more nicely against the gold.
Regardless of your final choice, both are beautiful and will definitely not disappoint! Pictures when you purchase please :)
Get the lapis! That's my choice too... we can be matching (when I get my ring!) :)

Lori - that's what my boy space friend said about the deep blue against the gold! I like how it looks like an ocean. I will definitely post pictures up if I am successful at purchasing one.
ReplyDeletealison*elle - eep! OKAY. deep blue/lapis is definitely winning... can't wait to match when we get our future rings!
Blue for sure. Sorry, don't know the colour name ahaha.
ReplyDeleteThose rings are definitely one of a kind! Love the 'unrefined' look of them!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!!!

Ahh, I've been lemming for this ring for quite some time. It's soo pretty!!! I would totally go for the deep blue one. It really makes the gold stand out!!
ReplyDeletexoxoCat, Chic in Vancity and tiffyama - thanks for your comments and advice =)
ReplyDeleteAll three are gorgeous. I like the lapis a tiny bit more than the others, but it's really close.
ReplyDeleteHolts doesn't have the Arty ring. Went there couple weeks ago and they only have two YSL rings, but definitely not the Arty one. This is why Vancouver needs more high-end department store.
ReplyDeleteHolts got some arty rings in recently but not in coral, turquoise or deep blue though =(
ReplyDeleteGreat post about the Arty and totally LOL'ing about the tumor comment. It looks like a growth...and if I had one, I'd want it to look like the Arty ring on my finger :) I've been also coveting for a few months, and considering buying a lookalike to make sure it's something I want to splurge on. Here's a post going through my logic- would love your thoughts!
